     Staria Stine has been a practicing artist working in clay for over ten years. She started her focus in ceramics at the Kansas City Art Institute. Graduating in 1999 with a BFA, she continued on to Pennsylvania State University where she received her MFA in ceramics in 2001. After teaching ceramics at both institutions, Staria continues her work at her Murphys studio and gallery.                      

Driven by her passion for the natural environment, Staria is inspired by the dynamic relationship that continues to evolve between the man-made world and the organic world. As an artist sculpturally working in clay, Staria strives to convey this complex tension and the fragile balance that it exists within.
